The capacity of the terminal

Built on an area of 37.5 hectares, this infrastructure has a handling capacity exceeding 1.5 million TEU containers per year and can accommodate 16-meter draught ships on its 1,100- meter long quays.

Investments and
terminal capacity

In addition to the investments made by the Port Authority of Abidjan, the construction of the second container terminal required an investment of 262 billion CFA francs from Côte d'Ivoire Terminal.

Besides its infrastructure, this new terminal will be equipped with 6 ship to shore gantry cranes, 13 yard cranes and 36 terminal tractors, all of them electric! Operations are due to start in November 2022.

As a modern and connected infrastructure, the 2nd container terminal will be equipped with a VBS (vehicle booking system), a digital identification tool that will allow end-to-end digitization of truck entries and exits at the terminal. Côte d’Ivoire Terminal will be a pioneer in offering digitized solutions in its operation and in its transaction with customs, airport authorities and its customers.

HSE

Our HSE department provides assistance to our employees, contractors and clients in the prevention of any risks related to their activities. To this end, we implement a safety management approach based on 12 golden rules. These rules specify the obligations in force at the Terminal in order to identify and share risks for an effective prevention individually and HSE Our investments About Us collectively. In the operational phase, we define and embrace the terminal's HSE policy. We deploy coherent and measurable objectives within our various departments, through all process activities and sequences.

Applied HSE systems allow us to define process-related responsibilities in order to build a process documentation in view to develop monitoring and measurement tools that ensure the effectiveness of our activities. We also measure the performance of our different business units with the aim to constantly and continuously improve.

To ensure full compliance to our HSE standards, we train staff and contractors in the applicable rules at the Terminal. The HSE team then organizes daily awareness-raising sessions focused on specific themes.
